EUROPE VS USA! Ryder Cup is here!

As you golf fans will know, the Ryder Cup starts on the 30th of September with Europe going head to head with the USA for that prestigious golden cup.

European captain Darren Clarke will be hoping to spur his team forward towards a fourth consecutive title. Although the Ryder Cup takes places in Minnesota, we’ll still be enjoying some of it on the telly with a lovely Grey Trees ale or 2.

Mark Twain once said golf is a ‘good walk spoiled’. However, that doesn’t seem to stop millions of people around the world watching it.

At Grey Trees we are happy to be involved in any competitive sport as it gives us an excuse to share time with friends and family whilst drinking some of our lovely craft beer, whilst we enjoy watching the game.

This tournament, which happens every other year pits the golfers of the Europe against those of America. If watching them ‘spoiling their walks’ gives you the urge to spoil some of your own, then there are some great Golf courses in the Cynon Valley with both Mountain Ash and Aberdare having the full 18 holes.

Get your Grey Trees bottles, cans, bottles and kegs ready as this promises to be 3 days of exciting competition. Alternatively, pop down to your local pub for a Grey Trees pint and see how the Ryder Cup unfolds.
